Skills Bootcamps are part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping adults to gain in-demand skills and fast-track to employment or higher-paid roles. Delivered in partnership with local employers and training providers, they’re designed to fill real skills gaps and create job opportunities in East Sussex and beyond.

What You’ll Learn
Skills Bootcamp 1
Skills Bootcamp 1 will help you develop specialist knowledge in one of three key areas:
- Dementia Care teaches how to support individuals with dementia, focusing on person-centred approaches and effective communication.
- Safe Handling of Medication covers correct procedures for administering, storing, and recording medication safely.
- Principles of End-of-Life Care explore how to support individuals and families compassionately during the final stages of life.
Skills Bootcamp 2
- Working in Health and Social Care gives you a broad understanding of roles, responsibilities, safeguarding, communication, and the values required to work confidently and professionally in care settings.
Who Can Join?
You can apply if you:
• Are aged 19 or over
• Resident of Kent County Council
• If you are unemployed or employed but ready for career change there is no cost
• Been in the country for the last three years
• Can commit to attending training over several weeks
• Have a keen interest in working in health or social care
• No prior experience is required – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
