Skills Bootcamps are part of the Government’s Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping adults to gain in-demand skills and fast-track to employment or higher-paid roles. Delivered in partnership with local employers and training providers, they’re designed to fill real skills gaps and create job opportunities in East Sussex and beyond.

What You’ll Learn
Our tailored course will cover essential areas such as:
- Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care
- Understand the role of the social care worker
- Understand how to handle information in social care settings
- Understand health and safety in social care settings
- Principles of Diversity, equality and inclusion in adult social care settings
- Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children’s and young people’s settings Principles of communication in adult social care settings
- Principles of personal development in adult social care settings
- Understand person-centred approaches in adult social care settings
Who Can Join?
You can apply if you:
- Are aged 19 or over
- Resident of any borough of London
- If you are unemployed or employed but ready for career change there is no cost
- Been in the country for the last three years
- Can commit to attending training over several weeks
- Have a keen interest in working in health or social care
- No prior experience is required – just enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!
Course Details
Location: On Teams
Duration:
6 weeks (5 days in a week)
10 weeks (3 days in a week)
Cost: FREE for eligible learners, funded by Greater London Authority and the Department for Education
Start Dates: Batches starting every month
Benefits to Learners:
On completion, learners will get:
- Accredited level 3 certificate
- Be guaranteed a job interview with a local care provider
- Progress into further training such as Level 2/3 diplomas or apprenticeships
- Additional support with Employability skills
- Support to apply for roles, practice interviews and help to highlight your many skills and qualities
